2024 Jazz Fest live updates: See schedule, food options, where to find shade and more

The first weekend of the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival is here!

nola.com Staff are hitting the fairgrounds on the second day of the festival to give you live updates, tips and more for the next few days.

If you’re coming to enjoy or watch from a distance, we’ll tell you what’s going on inside the gates and give you everything you need to know.

Ticket and admission information

Single-day tickets for Jazz Fest are $95 plus advance fees nojazzfest.com Or a fee of more than $105 at the gate. Single-day tickets for Thursday, May 2, when the Rolling Stones are scheduled to perform, have sold out.

Festival gates open at 11 a.m. daily during the Jazz Festival. If you have already purchased tickets, but they have not been mailed, you can pick up your passes at one of the Will Call stands.

Jazz Fest Weather Forecast

New Orleans will see a hot, dry weekend, according to forecasters at the National Weather Service in Slidell.

This should be an ideal outcome for festival goers as the high temperature on Friday is forecast to be 83 degrees, with only a 1% chance of rain.

Expect partly sunny skies, with a few clouds at times providing a brief respite from the scorching Louisiana sun.

Temperatures will also be in the low 80s on Saturday and Sunday, capping off a beautiful spring weekend.

The music starts at 11:10 a.m. with the NOCOA Community Choir. Several other artists will begin their sets at 11:15, including Los Cumbia Stars, Sonny Gulez and the Blues Groovers and T’Monde.

The shows will continue throughout the day with the last set ending at 7pm

The biggest names performing Friday night are The Killers and Jon Batiste.
