In Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, there are times when you’re presented with a conversation option that will affect the outcome of the quest you’re currently trying to complete.
This is certainly true within the Road to Hamartia questline, where you’re given the option to tell Halfdan Faravid is planning an attack, or that he’s honorable.
Below we will discuss what happens when you choose either option so you can plan your strategy accordingly.
Faravid is honorable or Faravid is planning an attack: which option is best?
When you start the Road to Hamartia quest in Doncastre, you’ll be thrown straight in the deep end with Halfdan as he’ll ask you what Faravid is planning.
After the initial conversation, you will be presented with two options regarding Faravid’s attack – Faravid is planning an attack and Faravid is honorable.
Naturally, you’ll want to make the right decision for you, so here are the results for both options:
Faravid plans an attack
If you choose to tell the truth about Faravid wanting to attack the Picts behind Halfdan’s back, Halfdan will notice your honesty.
Halfdan will then ask you to keep an eye on Faravid and discover his lies.
Faravid is respectable
If you choose to side with Faravid in this matter and tell the Jarl that Faravid is honorable, you will tell Halfdan that you have fought alongside Faravid many times and that he can be trusted.
Unfortunately Halfdan won’t believe you and will say that Faravid pulled the wool over your eyes.
He will then ask you to keep an eye on Faravid.
Which is the best?
So, in short, whichever option you choose, the actual outcome is the same – Halfdan is telling you to keep a close eye on Faravid.
If you’re planning on playing the game truthfully then telling the Jarl about the attack is technically the better option, but if you’re not planning on roleplaying then there’s no problem with either option.
