Assistant Secretary Kritenbrink and Assistant Secretary Lu’s Participation in the Virtual Quad Senior Officials’ Meeting – United States Department of State

Assistant Secretary of State for East Asian and Pacific Affairs Daniel J. Kritenbrink and Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs Donald Lu met virtually with their Quad counterparts on July 2. The senior officials reaffirmed the Quad’s commitment to the people and communities of the Indo-Pacific region, including through coordinated humanitarian and disaster relief assistance to Papua New Guinea in the wake of the recent tragic landslide in May. They also discussed the Quad’s support for regional institutions, including ASEAN, the Pacific Islands Forum, and the Indian Ocean Rim Association. They further spoke on regional and global issues.
