On behalf of the United States, I would like to congratulate the people of the Republic of Burundi on their 62nd anniversary of independence.
The United States is committed to working with the Burundians to strengthen our bilateral relationship, foster economic growth and opportunity, improve food security, and promote positive health outcomes.
We look forward to working closely with Burundi to support the protection and respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms and democratic institutions as the country approaches parliamentary elections in 2025.
