Chicken Crust Pizza

Pizza night has always been a huge hit in our house since I was a kid. I’ve carried this over to my kids and they are huge pizza fans too. Instead of ordering expensive (and unhealthy!) takeout or frozen grocery store pizza, I order homemade pizza. I’ve tried several different versions over the years, and the newest is this chicken crust pizza. It’s a low-carb pizza crust that brings a new twist to my taste buds. Meatza Recipe!

Chicken Crust Pizza

The kids and I love pizza crust made with ground beef, but this delicious version uses ground chicken. I also use four times as much Parmesan cheese in the crust. This combination helps satisfy traditional pizza cravings with a delicious, crunchy crust.

It’s a great option if you’re on a keto diet because it’s low carb and naturally gluten-free. Since it’s full of healthy fats and nutrients, it’s much more filling than versions made with refined flour.

If you want a slightly thicker, chewier crust, flatten the chicken to about 1/2 inch thick. For a crispier crust, aim for a crust that’s about 1/4 inch thick. Thankfully, pizza “dough” is very soft and easy to work with!

Chicken Pizza Ingredients

The main ingredient here is chicken (obviously!), but you can also use ground turkey if you prefer. And if you have a healthy source of canned chicken that works too, plus it’s quicker to make. Some chicken crust pizza recipes recommend using shredded chicken which gives a different texture.

And pizza isn’t pizza without your favorite toppings! We love using tomato sauce with mozzarella cheese and lots of fresh veggies. Or you can opt for Alfredo sauce for a creamy version. Here are some more topping ideas:

  • Sprinkle Italian seasoning
  • Drizzle with good quality olive oil
  • Pepperoni
  • Bell peppers
  • Red onion
  • With top fresh basil After cooking
  • Black olives
  • Roasted red pepper
  • chopped sun-dried tomatoes

Chicken Crust Pizza Recipe

This recipe is my classic meatza and a twist on a popular chicken crust trend!

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F.

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the chicken, eggs, grated Parmesan cheese, dried oregano, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are well combined.

  • Line a baking sheet, pizza pan, or pizza stone with parchment paper.

  • Pour the chicken mixture onto the prepared parchment paper and spread it evenly about 1/4-1/2 inch thick to create a pizza crust.

  • Cook the chicken crust in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes, or until it is golden brown and solid.

  • Remove the crust from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes.

  • On top, spread a thin layer of tomato sauce over the crust, leaving a border around the edges.

  • Add your favorite pizza toppings such as mozzarella cheese, vegetables, or pepperoni.

  • Place the pizza back in the oven and bake for another 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

  • Once done, carefully take the chicken crust pizza out of the oven.

  • Let it cool for a few minutes before cutting and serving. Enjoy!
