David E. Kelley is keeping fans’ hope for another season alive big little lies – but being realistic about the challenges along the way.
11 time Emmy winner walked the carpet Premiere screening of his new Netflix series, a complete manon Wednesday at the Tudum Theater in Los Angeles, and he talked to ET’s Cassie DeLaura about several of his beloved projects — including the hit HBO series Fans are still hoping for a third season.
When asked if a script had been written for a potential Season 3, Kelly laughed and said, “A lot of people are talking about it.” “But it’s a very busy schedule.” [to make work],
Stars of acclaimed drama series Reese Witherspoon, nicole kidmanShailene Woodley, Laura DernAdam Scott, Zoe Kravitz and Meryl Streepto name a few.
“So if you can get all that talent together, everybody loves to do it, it’s a great team,” Kelly said. ,[But] There are some logistical challenges between now and then.”
Ultimately, though, Kelly is definitely still hopeful that they can come together and work things out.
Meanwhile, Kidman is working with Kelly once again for the second season nine complete strangers – in which she plays Masha Dmitrichenko, the founder of a new age resort who is not opposed to using psychoactive hallucinogens as part of her health and wellness routine.
Kelly said, “I’m bound by confidentiality, not to give away story points.” “But micro-dosing is still going on, so the behavior will be wild.”
He also praised the performance of series star Kidman, quipping, “I think she’ll get her career if she keeps at it. She’s very good.”
While fans wait for those projects, Kelly is preparing for the release of his new Netflix series, a complete man, starring Jeff DanielsDiane Lane, William Jackson Harper, Tom Pelphrey and Lucy Liu.
In the show, Daniels plays Charlie Crocker, a real estate tycoon who struggles to get back to the top after bankruptcy and legal problems.
“It was a lot of fun [to work on],” Kelly shared. “It started with a book. The book was a lot of fun and I think the team that put it together really signed up for it.”
Kelly working as producer and showrunner, Oscar winner regina king and veteran TV director Thomas Slam signed contracts to direct, each directing three episodes.
Kelly said, “With Regina and Tommy directing and then Jeff Daniels with Charlie Crocker, we had a lot of fun.”
