Six newborn babies died in a fire that broke out at the Baby Care New Born Hospital in Vivek Vihar on May 25. One of the five injured children rescued from the hospital died during treatment on Friday.

Ordering a comprehensive anti-corruption probe into the incident on Tuesday, Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena said the incident exposed “gross mismanagement, criminal negligence and connivance of health department officials” in the granting and renewal of registration of the nursing home.
