Delhi HC seeks NTA stand on candidate’s plea alleging out of syllabus question in NEET – ET HealthWorld

New Delhi: The Delhi High Court has asked the National Testing Agency (NTA) to present its stand in the matter.NTA) on one Petition By National Eligibility Criteria The candidate alleged that ‘out of syllabus’ questions were asked in the entrance examination. Petitioner It was claimed that a question in the Physics section was ‘Radioactivity’ When ‘Radioactivity topic’ was not part of the syllabus of this year’s NEET-UG.

The petitioner also alleged “clear error” in respect of another question for which the NTA declared a “wrong option” as the correct answer.

The vacation bench of Justice Dharmesh Sharma granted two weeks’ time to the lawyers appearing for the Centre, NTA and National Medical Commission to file their reply on the plea.

“Learned counsel for respondent nos. 1 to 3 are present on advance notice and requested to grant time to file a short affidavit. It be filed within two weeks from today,” the bench said in the order passed on June 24.

The petitioner submitted that though he is a “successful candidate”, his overall ranking has been adversely affected due to the errors committed by the NTA.

“It is stated that the irregularities in the competitive examinations, and that too when the examination is being conducted to prepare future doctors, clearly deserves to be appreciated with utmost seriousness as it not only perpetuates inequalities by favouring the undeserving but also causes harm to those in whose hands the health of the people of the nation will depend in the years to come,” the plea filed through advocate Sameer Kumar said.

The next hearing of the case will be on July 16.
