To start the season, Fouler has a mediocre 3.33 ERA but an attractive 0.89 WHIP. Last season, Folter posted a 5.36 ERA and 1.41 WHIP, which may indicate that Folter has made significant progress this offseason and the early part of this campaign.

A quick look under the hood shows that his fastball has been the foundation of his improvement. On Baseball Savant, his fastball has a run value of seven, compared to a negative three value last season.

Talon should be in line to rack up many wins with the support of a strong team around him and not let your stats suffer along the way. The 32-year-old is scheduled to face the New York Mets on Monday and make his second start against the Brewers over the weekend, making him an intriguing two-start option.

Reed Garrett has been one of baseball’s best relief pitchers through the first month. Unfortunately, Garrett is in the bullpen with one of the best closers in baseball, so he isn’t worth rostering in a standard 5×5 league.
However, Garrett could become a valuable asset in the league, and his dominant strikeout numbers will improve your ratios.
The 31-year-old has thrown 12 ⅔ innings with a 0.71 ERA, 0.87 WHIP, including 25 strikeouts.

Garrett has yet to allow a barrel (a hit that had an exit velocity of at least 98 mph) and is sporting a dominant 1.28 xERA and .122 xBA, which puts him 99th among qualified pitchers in both categories. Keeps in th percentile. Additionally, he has a 45.9% whiff rate and a 51.2% K rate.

Since this breakout, Abreu has been batting in the top four spots in the Boston lineup, which has provided him with many opportunities to score points.
The underlying metrics support his production as he is averaging an above average exit velocity of 90.0 mph and a 11.1% barrel rate.

Abreu’s recent breakout performances, strong vision, and production at the plate make him an attractive addition to any team. His extra speed is a welcome bonus and he should be tasked with a few swipe bags every week.

The ultimate utility guy has a disappointing .215/.288/.400 line, but he has started to turn around recently and is worth considering in deeper formats.
From April 16 to April 23, the 24-year-old posted a strong .368/.455/.789 line with two home runs and one stolen base.
If you’re looking for someone to fill in for an injured player, Freeman is an ideal addition. Due to his positional flexibility, he usually finds his way into the Guardians’ lineup, and his recent change makes him a fairly safe, low-risk investment.

FAAB bid: 10%
This is the 24-year-old’s second appearance in this column. Alexander has done nothing less than prove he can stick in the Arizona lineup and should be included in 12-team drafts. Alexander has posted a strong .316/.371/.544 line with three round-trippers and 13 RBI in his first 19 games.
Unfortunately, while Alexander plays in a great lineup, which will do wonders for his counting statistics, he will usually be penciled down. They have batted above the bottom three only twice this season.
Additionally, Alexander has posted a below-average 24.1% K-rate, which slightly lowers his value in point leagues. Alexander remains a solid middle infield option in deeper leagues and can become a utility in shallower leagues if he can earn more plate appearances and lower his strikeout numbers.

Tyler Stephenson has shown an increase in strength over the past week. The backstop has slugged two of his three long balls over the past seven days, suggesting he is starting to turn the corner in a tough 2024 for the 27-year-old. Statcast supports this recent notion, as he currently sits with a 20.9% barrel rate and 55.8% hard-hit rate.

That being said, I am including some possibilities that you can start collecting to get ahead of your league-mates and save some of your budget, and get them at a discount. Once a big name prospect gets called up, you’ll have to pay the next week to add them to your roster and that could sink your FAAB.

The top prospect in the Tampa Bay system is on the verge of a promotion. He has posted a .500 SLG with two home runs in his first eight games in Triple-A. Caminero could provide a much-needed spark to a struggling Rays team. He will make an immediate impact on the call-up and is worth hiding from today.

While the strikeout numbers are high, Loperfido has been the best power hitter in all of professional baseball in 2024. The 24-year-old has hit ten home runs in 20 games.
Loperfido is an interesting reserve as he has started playing first base, which may be his best path to promotion. jose abreu The 2024 season has gotten off to a terrible start and Paine may soon be hit with a terrible blow.
