The items destroyed included – 140 kg of mawa (lack of proper temperature and hygiene), 150 kg of powdered masala (unlabelled), frozen food items and green peas (lack of proper temperature). These were destroyed with the help of the Mapusa municipality.

The FDA Supervision Early in the morning, the police conducted a check on the food items being transported through inter-state buses. Samples of all the food items were taken for examination. Some items were found to be non-compliant with the standards. These include various types of paneer, ready-to-eat frozen food items, etc. A vendor who did not have a valid FSSAI license, who had booked a consignment, was ordered to shut down his operation.

The FDA team included designated officer Richard Noronha, senior food safety officer Rajaram Patil and food safety officers Amit Mandrekar, Sonal Govekar, Safia Khan and Pritam Parab.
