New Delhi: Free Generic Pharmacy managed by HLL Lifecare Limited In AIIMSAIIMS, New Delhi is being shifted from its present location to the new location (former Pediatric OPD), said the official statement.

As per the official statement from AIIMS, HLL Lifecare is involved in the distribution of generic medicinesand the cost of medicines being provided free of cost Patients Its expenses are borne by AIIMS.

It is alleged that the reduction in the allotted space would cause inconvenience to patients as the number of service counters would be reduced.

It said, “Due to the present location of the pharmacy, patients gather on the road in front of the pharmacy to collect medicines. This causes traffic obstruction, hampers the movement of other patients and vehicles and also causes great inconvenience to the public, especially the disabled and ailing patients.”

It said the new proposed location will have a waiting area in front of the counters, where 100-200 patients can wait comfortably at a time to get medicines.

Contrary to allegations, the total number of patients served in a day will not decrease as there is provision for a proper waiting area, which has the capacity to accommodate around 200 patients at a time.

Routine inspection conducted by AIIMS authorities revealed that the space earlier allotted to HLL Lifecare was being underutilised.

The relocation will lead to optimal utilisation, as the space vacated by HLL Lifecare will be used to open a much-needed outlet. Orthotics and Prosthetics For differently-abled patients, with a dedicated testing area for fitting. (ANI)
