“Goodfellas” may not have worked out so well for some viewers… It’s getting a trigger warning from AMC over outdated stereotypes — and, it’s causing a backlash online.
ken lovett — a former reporter for the New York Post — shared a photo of a trigger warning, which he says played on TV earlier this week just before the flick aired on X… to expose viewers to potentially objectionable content. Was warned about. Martin Scorsese film.

The warning cites “language and/or offensive cultural stereotypes that are inconsistent with today’s standards of inclusion.”
As you can imagine, even with a trigger warning – which AMC says it added back in 2020 – keep in mind – an online riot is starting… a lot of people There are calls for awareness and highly sensitive people are left to marry the classic by adding warnings.
To be fair… the gangster classic is full of casual racism and misogyny – but, defenders say, it’s in tune with the times. After all, it is a period piece.
Actually, New York Post talked to the former policeman Bo Dietl – who played a small role in the film – and he criticized the move, saying that the film understated what it was really like on the tough streets of New York City.
We don’t know how some of the film’s stars feel about it… We’ve reached out to Scorsese, Robert De Niro And joe pesci – So far, no word back. We have also contacted AMC.
That said, some actors have criticized trigger warnings in recent days… including dame judi dench who told sensitive people don’t go to the theater At all if they are easily triggered.
