Google Pay introduces ‘Buy now, pay later,’ display card perks, and more

Google Pay users will soon see a flood of updates as the payments solution is bringing integrations with other Google products.

Autofill will be enabled on Chrome and Android from Wednesday (May 22), allowing people to automatically fill in essential information such as shipping, billing and payment details. Instead of adding a card’s security code, the details can be unlocked by a PIN code, fingerprint or face scan.

The changes are aimed at focusing on security, convenience, and access to smart spending tools. All three of these are priorities that Google says their buyers are looking for.

With ‘buy now, pay later’ plans becoming popular and widely accessible, Google is also finally getting in on the act as you can now link Affirm or Zip to your account. Both of these offer more liberal payment options and once connected, you can make your payment hassle-free. Google PayNow the ability to pay over time will become possible.

one of Company Press ReleasesGoogle says it has expanded the “Buy Now, Pay Later” feature to even more merchant sites and Android apps across the US

“Shoppers can either link their existing account or sign up with a provider right there.”

Credit card benefits will be more visible with changes in Google Pay

It will now also be easier for American Express and Capital One cardholders to view card benefits. Google Pay has started showing these at checkout to help you choose the card that will give you the most out of your purchase.

Some cards will have dining-out cashback offers, while others will have benefits for travel-related purchases, so this new addition to Google Pay will make it easier for credit card holders to see everything at a glance.

“Many credit cards offer rewards and savings on shopping. But if you have multiple cards, it can take some effort to figure out which card offers the most rewards on your purchases.”

At the moment, this new offering is only available for American Express and Capital One, but the team is hoping to expand to more cards in the future. It is also only available when checking out on Chrome desktop.
