Guyana Independence Day – United States Department of State

On behalf of the Government of the United States of America, I extend warm congratulations to the people of the Cooperative Republic of Guyana on the 58th anniversary of their independence.

The United States reaffirms its unwavering commitment to Guyana as a trusted partner. Over time, our mutual passion for democracy and resilience will remain as fundamental pillars of our strong bilateral relationship. Our countries are intricately connected through deep ties, including education, history, economy, culture, and our strong people-to-people ties. We eagerly look forward to continued collaboration and partnership to strengthen commercial ties, work toward net zero carbon emissions, promote transparent governance, enhance cooperation in healthcare, uphold human rights, preserve regional stability, and combat illicit activities in the region. Our commitment to advancing the U.S.-Caribbean Partnership to Address Climate Crisis 2030 (PACC 2030) remains firm as we confront climate change, food insecurity, and other challenges in the year ahead.

On the occasion of Guyana’s Independence Day, the United States sends warm wishes for a year filled with peace, prosperity, and happiness to all.
