Girdhar Gyani, director general of the Association of Healthcare Providers of India (AHPI), said, “The prime minister wanted 3,000 100-bed hospitals in tier 3 cities, which did not happen. So we want the government to encourage the private sector in terms of cheap electricity, cheap land, affordable loans and single-window clearances so that these hospitals can be set up.”
Anand Pandhari, vice-president of the Indian Red Cross, said the government should create a cell that will strengthen the implementation of the National Education Policy.

This was the ninth pre-budget consultation chaired by the Finance Minister, in which experts from the health and education sectors gave their suggestions for the upcoming Union Budget 2024-25.
Union Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Choudhary was accompanied by Finance Secretary and Expenditure Secretary, Secretaries of Department of Economic Affairs, Department of Revenue and Ministry of Finance in the pre-budget consultation meeting.
Apart from this, Secretaries of Higher Education Department and School Education Department and Health Secretary also participated in the meeting.
