‘HotD’ Season 2: Tom Glynn-Carney on What to Expect for King Aegon II

House of the Dragon Star Tom Glynn-Carney is excited for fans to see his character truly come into a role of power and strength in the upcoming season.

Glynn-Carney Attended the season two premiere at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City on Monday, and spoke with ET about what the future holds for King Aegon Targaryen.

According to the 29-year-old actor, his character development in season 2 will mainly be about “discovering” King Aegon [his] “touching feet” and “stepping into the shoes of the king, wearing the crown, sitting on the Iron Throne — and actually having purpose, understanding all of this.”

“This is the first time we’ve seen Aegon be purposeful,” he said enthusiastically.

ET spoke with the show’s creator Ryan Condal on Monday, who revealed that this season will also feature some of the biggest and boldest action sequences in the franchise’s history.

“These are the two biggest things we’ve ever filmed,” Condal joked. “They involve a lot of dragons, fire and action, and it’s exciting! I’m excited for everyone to see it.”

Earlier, Kondal had told The Hollywood Reporter News broke last year that viewers would “meet five new dragons” this season, who will undoubtedly play a part in the huge scenes viewers expect in upcoming episodes.
