Ilana Glazer Talks About Chaotic Mushroom Scene in Babes

In the comedy, Glazer’s Eden is enjoying life as a single woman in New York City with her married childhood best friend Don.Michelle Buteau) when he finds out she’s expecting a baby – during a very inconvenient time – after a one-night stand.

In an exclusive interview with us weekly, Glazer admitted that it is not easy to portray someone who is taking drugs, despite what viewers may think. “I think it’s really hard to pretend to be drunk and pretend to be on a trip, and we were going for a classic LOL version of it,” the 37-year-old actress shared, explaining that the scene was “I imagine. This is the worst trip I can take.” ,

“My travels have been bad, [but] Learn [you are pregnant] On mushrooms, it’s bad,” Glazer continued. “It was helpful that we were working on a broader ‘just go for it, just go crazy’ [vibe] Because going there seemed like madness.”

Aside from the hilarious moments, babes It also highlights how friendships can change as a person is entering the next chapter of their life. He said, “We’ve been by Eden’s side every step of the way: Your friends have kids and your friendships are tested and you don’t get a chance to see them as much.” “But then when you become parents and you need your friends more, that was really the thread for us.”

Glazer also learned a thing or two about motherhood – a scene in which her character was undergoing an amniocentesis test showed the actress’s genuine reaction. “I didn’t have an amnio,” she shared, “and when they brought it out [for the film]I was like, ‘This is a needle?'”

Ultimately, Glazer hopes the film will bring awareness to the many realities women face when expecting. “During my pregnancy and giving birth, there were a lot of things that were shocking,” she shared. “You can’t believe that this happens and it’s not at the forefront of American discussion all the time.”

She added, “Having a child is a shocking experience, simply because we’ve been prevented from knowing about it.”
