“Jay said … ‘I would love to have a baby with you,'” Bunny recalled on her podcast. “And that was not the answer I thought he would say. I was just thinking, ‘Wow really? Do you always feel that way?’ He was like, ‘Yeah, I would always have a baby with you. If you want to have a baby, that’s fine. If you don’t, that’s fine. Whatever you want to do.’ So now he’s really excited about it.”

They have been seeing a fertility specialist since 2019, but only recently did they feel they were fully prepared, financially and otherwise, to welcome a new member to their family.

“We are thinking about having twins,” Bunny said. “We think we want twin boys. I’m not sure. We might have one or two. We just don’t know what we’re going to do yet. We’re not planning the transplant until February 2025.”

In early June, the 39-year-old Jelly Roll released a single titled “Business with the boys” podcast.

“We had planned to do this privately but we decided our IVF journey needed to be shared because we have always been so open,” Bunny said on Instagram after making the announcement. “And with all the odds stacked against us, it’s already been hard (and) we’ve only just gotten started. We’ve been meeting with IVF doctors (and) exploring all of our options to add to our family.”

In her new podcast episode, Bunny said that moving forward, they intend to keep their “IVF journey” private.

“I’m going to be honest with you guys. I would not carry a baby,” she said, explaining her decision to use a surrogate. “I’m not mentally healthy enough to let my hormones go haywire. … I’ve gotten to a point where I’m balanced. My anxiety is finally fixed. I don’t have depression — of course I have those days and things like that, but it’s nothing compared to what I went through in 2019.”

She further added, “There’s nothing wrong with having a surrogate. I would have trouble having a baby. You know, I’ve lost so many babies. One, we don’t have the time to do that. Two, my schedule doesn’t allow me to … have another miscarriage or ectopic pregnancy.”
