Kelly Hyland has come forward with some terrifying personal news.
Speaking to E! News on Tuesday, the former Dance Moms star revealed that she lost a significant amount of weight earlier this year and, as a result, she underwent a mammogram.
The result was very disappointing.
“It came back showing a mass,” Hyland told E!,
The TLC alumnus then confirmed his worst fears (“It was fatal”) and said further testing also revealed More Terrifying news:
She has invasive carcinoma grade 3, which means her breast cancer is spreading very quickly.
“I went with clear conclusions [via a previous test] “In eight months it became a malignant lump,” Hyland said. “I was shocked at how quickly it grew and I was terrified of the battle I was about to face.”

Through this program, we learned why this is so. Hyland dropped out of the series Back in Season 4, when he and main star Abby Lee Miller got into a physical altercation at one point in the studio.
Daughter Paige told Entertainment Tonight a few weeks ago about how she felt following the feud, “We see her as an amazing mother who was struggling to do the things we wanted.”
Now, sadly, Kelly faces a very different kind of battle.
“I did a four-way call with all of my kids because I wanted to tell them at the same time and make sure they were given the same information,” Hyland told E! about how she broke the cancer news to kids Paige, Brooke, and Josh.
“This was a very difficult conversation for all of us to have,” Kelly stressed.
Meanwhile, Hyland says her former co-workers also know she has the disease.
She hopes to keep things “as normal as possible” going forward.

“They’ve been extremely supportive and willing to film my treatment program and how I’m feeling,” Kelly said of her former co-stars.
“I’m so lucky to have such great friends and a flexible job that allows me to stay normal through all of this.”
Hyland is on the second of six initial chemotherapy treatments, which will be followed by surgery, radiation and then 11 more treatments.
They are also looking forward to Paige’s upcoming wedding; yes, Kelly plans to attend the wedding as well.
“I may not look or feel my best,” Hyland says. “But nothing is going to stop me from helping my little girl and seeing her walk down the aisle.”
