michael richards‘The ban on the Laugh Factory could be over… because the owner is set to put it back on – if he has truly realised his mistakes.
Jamie Masada — the owner of Hollywood’s iconic comedy joint — told TMZ … he’s kicked the actor-comedian out for his work forever. The infamous 2006 rant Michael’s speech is banned at the club, as they believe hate speech is not acceptable, so Michael bans himself for his racist comments.
However, Masada says he believes in second chances and doesn’t want to hold a grudge against anyone, so Michael can return to that place… but, only if he’s truly a reformed person.
As we reported… Richards explained People He no hope of return is back in the spotlight with his new book and public appearances – while also saying that despite his reprehensible statements, he has never been a racist.
Worth noting … Richards reportedly says in his book that both he and the man who said he wasn’t funny “hit rock bottom” — which Masada is calling bullshit.
Jamie says he was at the club the night it all happened … and the group wasn’t actually bothering Richards, but just chatting during his set.
When Michael asked the people in the room what they were talking about, one of them told him he wasn’t funny… then Michael went completely crazy, yelling the N-word repeatedly. Jamie doesn’t think their actions were up to par at all.
Michael may say he’s not thinking about a comeback … but it seems there are some people who might give him a chance – if he’s willing to show he’s changed.
