League of Legends fans irate at $500 bundle celebrating its greatest player

League of Legends (LoL) fans were upset when they saw Riot Games put a $500 price tag on a new content bundle to celebrate esports players. Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok, League’s most successful player ever, after being inducted into the game’s new Hall of Legends.

LoL fans vent their anger over the prices

Not everyone in the LoL community is celebrating the game, though, because Reddit Feed No one can confirm this. Fans vented their anger on social platforms, saying that “the purpose of the Hall of Legends event was not to celebrate Faker, but to make money.”

Reddit user swiftrespite said: “Riot putting the entire skin behind a paywall is the biggest disrespect to us. Riot decided to exploit our love for Faker for their own gain.

It was something to remember Faker by when he retired and it was proof that we were here and cheering him on when he was still playing and lifting those trophies.”

At the highest level (Signature), the bundle costs around $500 and unlocks 100 levels of event progression. There are other tiers of Celebration skins as well. Still, the lowest-priced character skin, Risen, is $40, which is way too much for the average LoL fan.

This has led to some players boycotting the bundle, such as users Arcturan He said, “I already have Faker’s Ahri skin. It’s called the base skin and out of respect for Faker, that’s the skin I’ll be using.”
