Mexico City: A person infected with bird flu died in Mexico. Chronic diseases No more viruses, Mexico’s Ministry of Health said on Friday.

Earlier this week, the World Health Organization reported the first laboratory-confirmed human case of infection with A(H5N2) avian influenza in Mexico.

At a press conference in Geneva on Friday, World Health Organization spokesman Christian Lindmeier described the man’s case as a “multi-factor death” and said experts were still investigating whether he was infected by a person or through contact with animals.

Mexico’s Health Ministry insisted on Friday that the 59-year-old man’s death was due to chronic illnesses that led to septic shock, and was not caused by the virus.

“These illnesses were chronic and resulted in multiple organ failure,” the ministry said, citing findings of a team of experts.

The ministry said there is no evidence of person-to-person transmission of the A(H5N2) virus. Elimination of the virus from the case.

Scientists have become alert to changes in the virus that may indicate it is adapting to spread more easily among humans.
