New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday reiterated that Government commitment to overcome sickle cell diseaseand said that it is working on aspects such as making awareness, universal screening, to detect early And proper care.

“On World Sickle Cell Day, we reaffirm our commitment to defeating this disease. Last year, we National Mission for Elimination of Sickle Cell Anemia “We are working on aspects like creating awareness, universal testing, early identification and proper care,” Modi said in a post on X.

“We are also leveraging the power of technology in this sector,” he added.

The National Mission to Eliminate Sickle Cell Anemia, announced in the Budget 2023-24, aims to eliminate the disease by 2047.
