I recently played this game over the holidays and it was a lot more fun than I remembered (it helps that I kept winning!). Apologize! The catch phrase is definitely an oldie, but a goodie. If you haven’t played, you have your teammates try to guess the word or phrase that appears, but you can’t say any of the words on the screen.

In this cross-country train adventure game, you and your friends will collect cards and grow your railway across America. If you can connect two cities and build the longest railway line, you are the winner. If you want your game night series of games to keep the party going all night long, this is a great option to include.

Some may say it’s just for kids, but no family vacation goes by without my sisters and I breaking out the Sleeping Queens box. The game moves fast and requires some quick thinking from each player. The game ends when the player who awakens the most queens wins.


Bananagrams is simple: create your own crossword with the tiles you have to deal with, and the first player to complete their grid is the winner. Although, honestly, this is one of the few games where I forget all about the competition, rewrite the rules, (hey, it’s my game night), and throw away the timer. am. Instead, I like to focus on using the whole bag of letters and seeing all the creative combinations people can come up with.


I love. dispersed. End of story. This is one of my favorite night games for some reason. While Scattergories has been around for years, it never gets old. Classic, category-based game that tests your creativity. Each round only takes three minutes to complete, so you can fill your game night with scattergories.

The hygge game

Although it’s less about competition and more about inspiring meaningful conversations, it’s still at the heart of game night: connecting and coming together with family and friends.


Well, everyone is familiar with this game because it has been around since the 60s, but we feel that it has been unfairly forgotten over time. The best thing about Twister is that it is as suitable for an eight year old’s birthday party as it is for an adult party. Because after all, the greatest game night games can be enjoyed by players of all ages.
