Dr Manish Agarwal said, “The temperature is very high. Patients are getting headaches. They are vomiting. Some patients who have fainted due to extreme heat are also coming. Some of them are suffering from diarrhoea and are also weak. In the summer season, patients are susceptible to brain stroke due to dehydration. Due to dehydration, blood clots can form in the brain vessels, leading to heat stroke. We have advised people to keep themselves hydrated, take adequate fluids and avoid going out in extreme heat. The elderly and children are likely to be affected more as they are more prone to dehydration.” He advised people not to travel in extreme heat between 11 am and 4 pm.

He said, “People should avoid travelling between 11 am and 4 pm. If it is not possible to avoid travelling, people should cover their head and face. They should also use umbrellas. Before travelling outside, sufficient quantity One should consume fluids and also carry a water bottle with them to avoid dehydration.”
