According to WTSP-TVTampa police officers were investigating a shooting at the Holiday Inn Tampa North about 4:40 a.m. Sunday. A Tampa police spokesperson said, Joni Lewissaid at a press conference later that day that two cars were fired upon, resulting in “four people being hit by bullets.”
News4JAX According to Fusco, it was also reported that Jones “was celebrating his 26th birthday, which was on Friday, and was staying at an Airbnb.”

In a post shared by Jones on social media Instagram “The police shut us down and kicked us out of our Air BNB this is crazy,” the rapper wrote in a story on Sunday.
A later story also read, “Best birthday ever… thank you to everyone who came, we came till we couldn’t, we come to the show now, now come to you all.”
Fusco told News4JAX that “there were too many people at the Airbnb where they were celebrating and they had to leave.”
He said the rapper “got a room at a Holiday Inn hotel, where he was attacked in the parking lot.”
Jones was seen in a third Instagram story, uploaded two hours after the previous two posts. In his last known video, the rapper filmed himself with a group of friends who appear to be holding red cups in their hands.

Tampa police representatives said three other people were injured during the shooting and were in “stable” condition while being treated at a hospital.
Fusco released a statement regarding Jones’ death that read, “While these events involving our client, Mr. Charles Jones, have been disclosed by law enforcement, we are unable to provide further comment at this time until additional details become public record. We kindly request that the privacy of Mr. Jones and his family be respected during this difficult time.”
News4JAX Jones has been shot at twice in Jacksonville in the past three years, the report said.
Jones has 1 million followers on Instagram and describes herself as an “independent artist.” Her most recent music, an album titled Resurrection which contains 14 songs, was released Apple Music On April 5th.
Jones’ fans shared their grief on his social media accounts, with one user writing, “It’s so weird how you look at people’s stories that they’ve posted in the last 24 hours and then realize you’ll never see them post again… RIP.”
