Baker was best known for starring in Season 5 of MTV’s the real worldwhich took place in Miami and aired in 1996. A family member confirmed this TMZ On Sunday, June 23, it was reported that Baker had died by suicide at his home in Illinois last week.
According to her family, Baker moved to Illinois last year to take care of her mother and sister, but had planned to move back to California at some point. Prior to her death, Baker had reportedly struggled with her mental health and was involved in a skateboarding accident.
Baker was 25 years old when she joined the real world In Season 5, which takes place in Miami in 1996, she describes herself as “a 19-year-old trapped in a 25-year-old’s body”.
From La Jolla, California, Baker was working in the comic book industry at the time and worked for Wildstorm Productions (or Wildstorm), a comic book imprint.
Some? real world Fans will remember that in the 13th episode of the season she brought home a puppy she named Leroy. Her co-stars in season 5 included Dan Renzi, Melissa Padron, Joe Paten, Cynthia Roberts, Flora Alexeyeva And mike lambert,

YouTube/MTVAfter hearing the news of his death, Baker’s friends shared their memories of the former reality television star on social media.
“Sarah Baker was made of pure sunshine… full of energy and positivity, you couldn’t help but feel her warmth when you stood in her presence. I’m grateful for all the adventures and laughter we had. Much love to all of the WildStorm family!” daniel norton Posted via Facebook on Sunday.
“I think Sarah was always one of those people that when you met her, you always had a fond memory or a funny story about her,” Norton added. “Something you could always remember and share with your teammates. That was her strength.”
Another friend, Joel Benjaminshared several photos of Baker FacebookAlso in a heartfelt message he called her “the one” [of] the nicest people” he had ever met.
“I just found out that one of the best people I ever had in my life, especially during one of the most vulnerable times in my life, is no longer in this world,” Benjamin wrote. “Whenever I think of him I always see his smile and happy personality. You were loved and will be missed.”
Author Jeff Mariott also took Facebook to pay tribute to Baker. “I saw the news today that we lost everyone’s favorite Sarah Baker from Wildstorm,” he wrote on Sunday. “Even if you weren’t interested in comics in the ’90s, you may still remember her the real world (And from the opening episode of her season, part of which was filmed in our offices, and at Sarah’s wild farewell party).”
Marriott concluded, “She brought cheer to any room she walked into, the fans loved her, and so did we all. Sarah, all the best. We’ll miss you.”
