Kendrick Lamar‘Not Like Us’ is one of the hottest tracks on the planet, and the Recording Academy CEO Harvey Mason Jr. That said, it might not be a traditional thing for a diss track to win a Grammy Award… but it’s definitely possible now!
TMZ Hip Hop spoke with the Grammy winner at LAX on Monday, where he revealed he’s feeling the cultural impact of “Not Like Us” just like everyone else is.

HMJ says that ultimately it’s all about art and creativity, and “Not Like Us” ticks all the boxes at this point.
Recording Academy voters will ultimately be the decision makers, but Harvey doesn’t think Kendrick’s raunchy lyrics will impress or repel committee members.
He also said that Kendrick is not an outsider among the Grammys and its voters. In fact, his 17 wins make him one of the all-time greats.
A separate diss track category isn’t out of the question either. It’s been a heavy year for beef, and HMJ admits there have been some good releases recently.
His conclusion is that…whatever the voters want, they will get!!!
