RGCIRC undertakes telesurgery for cancer care – ET HealthWorld

New Delhi: Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute and Research Centre (RGCIRC) successfully administered Telesurgery For Cancer CareAccording to the hospital, this is the first cancer surgery in the country being performed using this modern technology.

surgery was led Dr. Sudhir RawalMedical Director, RGCIRC & Head Genitourinary Oncology And the procedure was completed in one hour and forty-five minutes, while traditional open surgery usually takes three hours.

Dr. Rawal performed the surgery from SSI office Udyog Vihar, Gurugram. SSI Mantra RobotWhile the patient was at RGCIRC, Rohini Centre, Delhi, he was treated with the help of an Indian robot.
