Law enforcement sources told us that the boxer has been arrested and taken into custody after he allegedly caused damage to hotel property, including his room and corridor.
In California, causing damage over $400 can be considered a felony.
We obtained a video that shows Beverly Hills police escorting Garcia out of the Waldorf and to a squad car. Though you can’t see Garcia’s face — he’s covered by a helmet — Ryan’s large tattoos are visible on his back.
The 25-1 fighter, who we’re told was under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, obeyed officers and walked away peacefully.
Eyewitnesses said they saw about a dozen police vehicles outside the hotel, which probably arrived there after the incident.
This isn’t the first time an alleged incident has happened involving Garcia at the upscale hotel.
Earlier this week (Wednesday night), police showed up at the Waldorf for a welfare check, as one of Ryan’s family members feared he might need assistance. Our sources tell us RG seemed fine, and the police left.
Later in the night we’re told that Garcia did something wrong, and the hotel has prohibited him from drinking alcohol.
The next day Ryan was photographed walking with his brother, and nothing appeared unusual.
Of course, Ryan beat Devin Haney The match, which took place earlier this year, was considered a major upset by many. After the bout, it was revealed that Garcia had tested positive for a banned substance. He remained adamant that he did not intentionally eat anything that was not allowed.
He is also dealing with personal problems. According to the fighter, his mother was recently diagnosed with breast cancer.
Garcia is currently in custody.
