Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken spoke today with German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock. Secretary of State Blinken and Secretary of State Baerbock reaffirmed support for Ukraine’s fight against Russian aggression and discussed challenges posed by the People’s Republic of China, including the PRC’s support for Russia’s defense industrial base. The Secretary of State and Secretary of State also discussed efforts to achieve a ceasefire that would ensure the release of hostages and increase the supply of humanitarian aid to Gaza. They agreed on the importance of preventing an escalation of the conflict in the Middle East and the threat posed by Iran.
