Secretary Blinken’s Call with UAE Foreign Minister Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan – United States Department of State

Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken spoke today with United Arab Emirates Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The Secretary of State and Foreign Minister discussed ongoing diplomatic efforts to reach a ceasefire in Gaza, including the release of hostages, a significant and sustained increase in humanitarian assistance, and improved humanitarian access to Gaza. They continued discussions about the post-conflict period in Gaza and how to establish governance, security, and reconstruction to build lasting peace and security for both Israelis and Palestinians. The Secretary of State thanked the Emirates for its critical humanitarian assistance to the people of Gaza. Secretary of State Blinken and Sheikh Abdullah also discussed shared objectives to promote regional stability, including efforts to reduce tensions between Israel and Hezbollah and end the conflict in Sudan.
