Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken spoke by phone today with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba. Secretary Blinken highlighted America’s steadfast support for Ukraine, including its ability to defend itself from Russian military bases on the Russian border from which the Kremlin is launching attacks against Ukraine. The Secretary of State reaffirmed America’s strong support for the upcoming Switzerland-hosted summit on peace in Ukraine. The two agreed to finalize bilateral talks on long-term security arrangements in the next few weeks. They also discussed the impact of newly arrived American military assistance on the battlefield. Secretary Blinken highlighted America’s enduring support for Ukraine’s sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity and our commitment to Ukraine’s recovery.
