Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken met with Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani in Jordan today. Secretary of State Blinken and Prime Minister Sudani discussed a comprehensive proposal to achieve a ceasefire in Gaza and secure the release of all hostages. The Secretary of State appreciated Iraq’s support for the plan and reiterated that Hamas should accept it without delay. The Secretary of State reaffirmed that we remain committed to the U.S.-Iraq 360-degree relationship to create economic opportunity and prosperity for all Iraqis.
