Foreign Minister Antony J. Blinken met today with Ayman Safadi, Jordan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs. Secretary Blinken thanked Jordan for its strong coordination in facilitating life-saving humanitarian assistance, including airdrops and overland deliveries, to Palestinians in Gaza. The Secretary stressed the need to accelerate the flow of humanitarian assistance to those in need. The two leaders also discussed diplomatic efforts to permanently end the war in Gaza, providing lasting peace and security for Israelis and Palestinians, as well as the urgent need to prevent the conflict from spreading.
