Secretary of State Blinken to Release the 2024 Trafficking in Persons Report – United States Department of State

Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken will release the 2024 Trafficking in Persons Report (TIP Report) on Monday, June 24 at 11:00 a.m. EST at the U.S. Department of State and will be joined by Ambassador Cindy Dyer to Monitor and Combat Trafficking in Human Beings.

This annual report represents the world’s most comprehensive resource for anti-trafficking efforts around the world. The TIP Report, mandated by the Trafficking Victims Protection Act, exemplifies the United States’ long-standing bipartisan commitment to combating human trafficking. Anti-trafficking stakeholders around the world – and governments that want to do more – read the report each year to guide and support their work. This year’s report, the 24th edition, includes details from 188 countries and territories, including the United States. The TIP Report introductory materials are prepared in partnership with the State Department’s Human Trafficking Expert Advisory Network, which includes subject matter experts with trafficking experience.

During the ceremony, Secretary Blinken and Ambassador Dyer will honor the 2024 TIP Report Heroes, who will be recognized for their vital efforts to combat human trafficking. This year the 2024 TIP Report Heroes will be honored.th TIP Report marks the anniversary of the Heroes Awards program. Following the ceremony, several Heroes will meet their American counterparts in Washington, DC and Raleigh, North Carolina through the International Visitor Leadership Program, the Department’s flagship professional exchange program.

Following the ceremony, Ambassador Dyer will speak and answer questions in the Briefing Room at the head of the departmental press briefing.

Instructions for restricted access to the report will be sent to members of the press on Monday, June 24 at 9:00 a.m. ET.

The preset time for the video cameras is 10:15 a.m. from the 23rd Street entrance.

Last entry time for authors and pictures is 10:30 a.m. from the 23rd Street entrance.

Media representatives may attend these events upon presenting one of the following: (1) a U.S. government-issued identification card (Department of State, White House, Congress, Department of Defense, or Foreign Press Center), (2) a media-issued photo identification card, or (3) a letter on letterhead from their employer verifying their employment as a journalist, along with an official photo identification (driver’s license, passport).
