Fashion Designer jeffery banks revealed the news women’s daily wear — a popular fashion magazine — reported Friday that White died last week while in hospice care in Manhattan. They did not give a cause of death.
White rose to fame through modeling in the 1970s … in 1979 she became the second black model to appear on the cover of GQ – two years later Urs Althaus,
She’s modeled for some of the biggest designers and publications over the years… including working with Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren and Bill Blass, while even appearing on the cover of Playboy in 1982.
White broke into the acting world in 1986 … appearing as William Reynolds in several episodes of “Guiding Light.” He has made several appearances in TV and movies over the years – most recently starring in the 2017 horror film “Central Park.”
Banks remembered Reynolds in an Instagram post as “the perfect gentleman and a great ambassador for my brand. When he was first introduced to my mom she immediately claimed he was my ‘big brother.’ That’s all I ever wanted.”
White’s funeral will be held next month in his hometown of Newark, New Jersey… his hometown. He was 80.
