The Sony Rewards program is officially coming to an end at the end of the year, and with that all points will expire, leaving members with no choice but to spend the money they’ve earned.
Launched in 2017, the program was designed to allow users to gain points sony or playstation Credit card. When enough points are accumulated, they can be redeemed for Sony brand items, including Play Station Video game.
However, the company has now announced the cancellation of the program through an update on its terms and conditions page.

“The Sony Rewards Program will expire on December 31, 2024, which is the last day to redeem points in the Sony Rewards catalog and access your account. The Sony Rewards website and mobile application (the “Mobile App”) will no longer be available after that date,” The company writes,
This program should not be confused with the PlayStation Stars program, which focuses on digital collectibles, as it will remain unaffected and separate from the rewards scheme.
While this change may leave existing credit card holders confused about future benefits, they will still have the option to continue earning points by making purchases with Sony or PlayStation Visa credit cards. They have been told that further information on how these changes will affect them will be provided in due course.
Reactions to the end of the Sony Rewards program are disappointing
After sharing the news on the X platform (formerly Twitter), Sony has received generally negative feedback to the announcement.
One user said: “I think I’ll cancel this card/never use it after this year.”

Others share a similar sentiment and call credit cards useless, saying there’s no reason to use them in the future.
“Wow this is really messed up, I feel bad to see it go away! I’ve had this card since they first advertised it on the PS3! I feel bad that I’m being forced to spend all my points and all the usually good games on the site are sold out and never come back in stock!” said one X user.
