Disney’s Deputy General Counsel Jill Ratner Mouse has left the house to join Sony Pictures Entertainment as executive vice president and general counsel.
Starting in her new role on May 28, Rattner will oversee all of SPE’s legal functions, compliance and labor relations, SPE music affairs, government/external affairs and corporate social responsibility teams. She will report directly to CEO Tony Vinciquerra.
The new appointment fills the key legal role following Leah Weil’s departure as General Counsel. after almost three decades Back with the company in January.
Ratner has served as Deputy General Counsel at The Walt Disney Company since 2019, where she leads a global legal team of more than 200 members. He currently has global responsibility for Disney’s litigation, IP, digital antipiracy operations, and the company’s social responsibility operations.
Before joining Disney, Ratner was at 21st Century Fox as deputy general counsel from 2004 to 2019. She was previously in-house counsel at the Motion Picture Association, and litigation associate at Hogan Lovells LLP and Hill Wynne Troup & Meisinger.
