Special Advisor on International Disability Rights Minkara Travel to Peru and Chile – United States Department of State

Sarah Minkara, US State Department Special Advisor on International Disability Rights (SAIDR), is visiting Chile from May 6 to 14 and Peru from May 14 to 16 to promote the integration and inclusion of persons with disabilities in international economic policy. On May 6 in Chile, SAIDR Minkara will participate in the Disability and Inclusion panel at Chile’s National Congress. On May 7, she will speak at the closing ceremony of the Zero Project Latin America conference, one of the first regional conferences promoting inclusive education. She will also meet with host government officials and civil society to learn how the United States can work with Chile to advance disability inclusion. SAIDR Minakara will travel to Peru on 14 May to meet with the government and civil society in Lima. On May 15, SAIDR Minkara will participate in the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Public-Private Dialogue on Women and the Economy in Arequipa, Peru to discuss the importance of women’s financial inclusion as a pillar of economic development.
