Special Advisor on International Disability Rights Minkara Travels to the United Nations to Attend the 17th Session of the Conference of States Parties to the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities – United States Department of State

U.S. Special Adviser on International Disability Rights Sarah Minkara will travel to New York June 11-13 to attend the 17th session of the Conference of States Parties (COSP) to the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities at the United Nations. Special Adviser Minkara will lead the U.S. delegation, which will facilitate bilateral and multilateral engagement with government officials, the private sector, and civil society to promote capacity building and advance respect for the rights and fundamental freedoms of persons with disabilities.

Special Advisor Minkara will participate in the opening session of COSP, convene government officials and the private sector from the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) region, host the C5+1 Special Session on Disability Rights, and participate in a meeting hosted by the Italian Government in connection with the first G7 Ministerial Meeting on Disability and Inclusion.
