Special Envoy Turner’s Travel to the Republic of Korea – United States Department of State

Special Envoy for North Korean Human Rights Julie Turner will visit the Republic of Korea (ROK) from May 21-25, 2024.

In Seoul, Special Envoy Turner will participate in the Asian Leadership Summit and engage Republic of Korea government officials, civil society, and North Korean defectors. She will strengthen the U.S. commitment to addressing the separation of North Korean families by connecting with relatives of abductees, detainees, and non-repatriated POWs.

Additionally, in a series of speeches, meetings and site visits, Ambassador Turner will speak to the inextricable links between the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK)’s human rights abuses and threats to international peace and security, on the need for more supply chain Will shed light.
