In what might be a dream for retro gamers, Universal Studios and Nintendo have announced that they will be bringing the video game maker’s classic titles to life when the new Super Nintendo World theme park opens in 2025.
The film studio released a Post About park details and an interactive digital map of upcoming attractions in Orlando.
Universal will be the fourth theme park opened by Epic Universe Studios and will feature five different areas: Celestial Park, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic, Dark Universe (based on classic Universal monsters), How to Train Your Dragon – The Isle Off Berk and Super Nintendo World.

Super Nintendo World is coming to 2025
The park’s announcement showed off the park’s rides and amenities, including Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge, Mine-Kart Madness, Yoshi’s Adventure, and Toadstool Café.

mario kart ride enters it nintendo The iconic world of the franchise with immersive 3D goggles. Park-goers can collect coins and throw shells while driving under water and in the clouds. The attraction uses special goggles – just look at your target, press a button on the steering wheel to toss a sphere, and BAM!”
The Donkey Kong Country series of games is featured in Mine Cart Madness where the tie-wearing Gorilla we all know and love attempts to keep the golden banana safe. “There’s rockwork and gems and flowers,” said Andrew Padua, senior art director and creative lead. Compared to the bricks and pipes of the Mario parts of the park, everything is elevated and tropical.
According to the Universal creative team, the ride will feature cutting-edge technology that “recreates the thrilling maneuvers of the mine cart from the Donkey Kong Country video game series.”
Yoshi’s Adventure is a slow-paced and family-focused attraction where you can hunt for spotted eggs joined by friendly dinosaurs.

One of the park’s features is a power-up band that tracks gaming progress during the park’s “major challenges”. Challenges include:
- thomp panel panic
- goomba crazy crank
- piranha plant nap accident
- Koopa Troopa Power Punch
- bob-omb kaboom room
This allows fans to battle Bowser Jr. in “Shadow Showdown” when enough key achievements have been unlocked to earn the Golden Mushroom. Bands based on classic Nintendo characters marioPeach, Luigi, Toad, Donkey Kong, Daisy, and Diddy Kong.
Super Nintendo World executive producer Susan Cummings said of the park coming together, “It may be a cliché, but it’s absolutely true: When you see a guest experiencing it for the first time that What your team has created, so it’s like: ‘Oh’, that’s right, this is what it’s all about.”
