“All I want to say is that it’s a little weird that we have a house Flipping Competition Show Because they literally have no chance of beating us,” Tarek, 42, joked about the blended family’s upcoming HGTV series, Flip OffWhich will premiere in 2025.
“It’s crazy, but everybody is in such a good place and we’re here to give you a great show and we’re so excited about it,” Heather, 36, said of their relationship.
Tarek and Christina, 40, were married from 2009 to 2018, and share two children: daughter Taylor, 13, and son Brayden, 8. The pair’s divorce ultimately ended their long-running series, flip or flopin 2022 after 10 seasons. Tarek and Heather married in 2021 and welcomed their son, Tristan, in February 2023. (Christina was married Ant Anstead (They have been married from 2018 to 2021 and have a son, Hudson (4 years old). She married her current husband Joshua (43 years old) in 2022.)
Tarek told Tamron, 53, that he felt like he and Christina went from “best friends to arch enemies” during their separation. However, he decided he wanted a different relationship for the sake of his kids.
“As time goes on, you start to think and start to figure things out, right?” Tarek explained. “And what I realized is this: I couldn’t imagine growing up in a family where my parents were divorced and they hated each other because I love my mom, I love my dad. They’re divorced, but they still get together, and we have family dinners. And the truth is, let the past be the past.”
After years of tension between Tarek, Christina, and their respective spouses, the group was brought together after a traumatic incident involving Brayden. emergency appendectomy in May 2022. Though the situation was terrifying for the parents, it eventually helped them make amends.
“It’s been a stressful 24 hours but a good reminder of how important teamwork/co-parenting is,” Christina wrote on Instagram at the time. “We’ve all been under pressure but when it really mattered, we were all there to do our part for Brayden. Sometimes a scary situation can be a good warning. At the end of the day everything else is just ‘noise’ all that matters is the kids.”

“It’s not easy when the whole world is watching and he always has something negative, bad to say and you broadcast everything and you don’t know how people are going to handle it,” he said. “He put everything out there and doesn’t care about the negativity – he’s trying to help people.”
Tarek agreed that publishing his memoir was “100 percent worth it.”
