Taylor Swift Endures Terrible British Weather for Eras Tour

Taylor Swift

It’s fair to say the UK has never been renowned as a tropical holiday destination – but the Brits are still seriously embarrassed by how bad the weather has gotten Taylor Swift‘S Era The tour arrived in the country in early June.

Fans on social media are expressing disappointment about how “embarrassing” it is that Swift has had to endure unseasonably cold, wet conditions for the past two weeks while she’s performed at outdoor stadiums in Edinburgh, Scotland, and Liverpool, England, as well as across the water in Paris, where it’s certainly not summer-like this June.

Usually, a typical June day in the U.K. sees pleasant temperatures around 66F, but at Swift’s Edinburgh show, the mercury plummeted to a whopping 49F. And during her stay in the U.K., there have also been some seriously hair-ruining winds and thunderstorms – and these are probably affecting her health, too.

At her show in Liverpool last week, Swift, 34, paused her performance to blow her nose and laughingly said, “I can do this while blowing my nose!” It was a cute reference to her song “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart.”

As one concerned fan wrote via X, “She looks so cold. Someone please tell me [Taylor] Know that jackets are perfectly acceptable in the British ‘summer’, even if you’re the biggest international superstar in the world.”

There’s an old British saying, “There’s no such thing as bad weather, only inappropriate clothing.” Wise advice, for sure — but a little boring and frustrating for fans who are being forced to pair their sequin shorts with sensible sweaters and raincoats.

Hayley Williams of Paramore, who are opening for Swift at European concerts Era Dates, too, is frustrated about the conditions. Posting via Instagram Stories ahead of her show in Liverpool, she said, “In June, in summer and winter weather, there are three layers under this dress! God doesn’t want us to get killed!”

The good news is that Swift is set to play three nights at London’s Wembley Stadium this weekend and the forecast right now looks to be a very pleasant 71F. But since British weather forecasts have a habit of changing more often than Swift changes her tour costume, anything can happen… so pack your rain boots, Taylor, and please know that British Swifties are very sorry!
