Taylor Swift Fans Are Drawing Parallels to Joe Alwyn’s Magazine Cover

Taylor Swift London, so much has been said by now – but fans are still discovering every connection between the pop star and her ex-boyfriend Joe Elvin,

On Friday, June 14, The Sunday Times style The magazine released the cover for its upcoming issue, which features Alwyn, 32, front and center. The title, “London Boy: What Joe Alwyn Did Next,” immediately sparked fans’ interest, as it appears to be a reference to Swift’s 2019 hit “London Boy” LoverWhich is probably about Alvin.

“‘London Boy’ he’ll always be in Taylor’s shadow I’m crying,’” one person joked via ex, while another responded, “Always her ex.”

Others pointed out its similarities to “So Long, London”, another song from Swift’s 11th studio album. The mention of “London Boy” was enough to have Swifties pulling out the push pins and red string, with some speculating that “What He Did Next” might be a play on words about the couple’s next steps following their breakup. A second headline that read “Tangerine Dream” was also spotted, as Swift uses the phrase in the song’s lyrics 1989 (Taylor Version) “Slut!” (The pop star also released a tangerine edition vinyl for that record.)

Meanwhile, Alvin’s blue and white striped shirt was compared to Swift’s Folklore song “Invisible String”, in which she appears to sing about the “teal” color of Alvin’s T-shirts when he worked at a yogurt shop as a teenager. Blue is also the color Swift constantly mentions in most of her songs about Alvin, often alluding to the color of his bright blue eyes or using it as a metaphor for her fluctuating emotions.

“This is new / Your body’s shaped like blue,” she sings Lovers “Cruel Summer”, while the lyrics Folktales “Peace” read, among other words, “If the melancholy of the waterfall ocean waves come to you.”

Fans took it a step further when they recognized the magazine itself, StyleTechnically, this is another reference to Swift. Swift also has a song of the same name about ex boyfriend Harry StylesWith whom she dated occasionally from 2012 to 2014.
