In The First Descendant, while the majority of the gameplay is about shooting enemies that come between you and your ultimate goal, it also involves uncovering a few secrets.
One thing that many people find confusing are encrypted vaults, but most are struggling to understand how to find their location and ultimately open them.
Here, we will discuss both these aspects so that you can access these chests and get gifts by opening them.
How to find the encrypted vault in The First Descendant
To start the encrypted vault process, you’ll first need to go out into the world and find the blue, square-shaped holograms that look like they’re on the floor. These are quite small and unnoticeable, so make sure you keep an eye out for them.
Once you find it, hover over it and press Tab/Right Stick depending on your input. You should hear a sound when you do this, and this is what you’ll need to use to locate the Vault.
Move your camera around and listen for when the noise is loudest – this will mean you’re looking in the right direction of the vault.
Now, head to the noise side, and either look for one of those blue squares, or if it’s smaller, look for the actual encrypted vault.
While you might think the encrypted vault would be some sort of safe-looking object, it’s actually more like a colorful robot, so keep that in mind.
How to open the encrypted vault in The First Descendant
Once you reach the vault, you will need a code analyzer to open it. There are two different versions of it – Basic Code Analyzer and Precision Code Analyzer.
You may have one or both of these in your inventory, but even if not, you can simply earn them by killing enemies and hoping luck is on your side and you find one of them.
With the analyzer in hand, you can now interact with the vault and you will enter a timing minigame. You must complete this or else you will use up your code analyzer and will need another one to try again.
If you were successful, great, you’ve now opened an encrypted vault!
