A very pretty face is returning to The Voice.
Late Wednesday night, NBC revealed its list of coaches for Season 27 (yes, Season 27!) announced the winner of the popular singing competition, announcing that Adam Levine will return to his former red chair this spring.
Levine and his fellow veterans John Legend and Michael Bublé will be joined by newcomer Kelsea Ballerini.
Levine was an original coach on The Voice but stepped away after season 16.
The Maroon 5 frontman served as a panelist on the show’s first-ever episode alongside Blake Shelton, Christina Aguilera and CeeLo Green.
However, he then had to go through a huge personal scandal, as Dirty messages to model who is not his wife, went viral in September 2022.
At that time several models and/or social media users appeared and Levine accused of having inappropriate contact with them.
The artist addressed the rumors at the time, admitting that he Was In a way, I was cheated.
“I exercised poor judgment when I engaged in any flirtatious conversation with anyone other than my wife,” he said in a statement.
“I did not have an affair, however, I crossed the line during a regrettable period of my life.”
In June 2023, Behati Prinsloo welcomes her and Levine’s third child And at this point, the relationship between the two husbands and wives seems to be absolutely fine.
Anyway, back to the professional arena…
Ballerini is a multi-Grammy Award-nominated, multi-platinum artist and Grand Ole Opry member.
He’s no stranger to The Voice, having previously served as a battle advisor on season 16 and as a coach during season 20, both times for Team Kelly Clarkson.
Coaches for Season 26, airing this fall, include Bublé, Snoop Dogg, Reba McEntire and Gwen Stefani.
In May 2019, Levine explained his surprising decision to leave The Voice in a lengthy note posted on Instagram.
“About 8 years ago, Mark Burnett convinced us to sign up for this show where you sit in a big red chair and have your back away from the singers on stage. First of all thank you to Mark. We had no idea what we were getting into or where it was going,” he began the message, and concluded by praising Shelton:
“I can’t hide my love for you even if I wanted to,” he said, addressing the 47-year-old country star. “Really. I tried. I can’t do it. Our friendship will always be in the books.
“Whatever this whole surreal experience has been, I’m so glad I got to experience it all with you. You’re my brother for life.”
