This guy is playing Super Monkey Ball with an actual super monkey ball. Why can’t he become the next President?

Put a monkey in a ball (not a real monkey, obviously; a ball will do) and make a video game in which said monkey, called AiAI, travels around extremely difficult paths collecting bananas and you have the basis for one of the most beloved puzzle games in gaming history.

Super Monkey Ball has always been great and probably always will be, and now with the latest version, Sega’s Super Monkey Ball Banana Rumble has hit the market. Nintendo SwitchAiAi is introducing (wordplay, very intentional) to a new audience.

But could it be made even better? What one thing would make this the best Super Monkey Ball experience of our lifetime? Playing the game with a real Monkey Ball, of course.

Throw away your Joycons, folks. Joystick drift is a thing of the past. Well, at least as far as Dr. Tom Tilley is concerned, it’s a thing of the past.

You can see that Dr. Tom is a computer scientist and he put all his intelligence and education into creating a controller for the Super Monkey Ball, which contains a model of the AiAI in a ball and made a giant trackball out of it so that he can move the AiAi around the course by moving it with his hands.

Using some cardboard (obviously scientific cardboard) and a 3D printer he has printed the monkey, which he has shown in his post on X, how he put it all together and how it all works. This guy is a genius. A true genius and he has my vote.

His post said,Everyone is adding AI to things nowadays, so I thought I would add AiAi to my DIY soccer/football controller.,

It’s funny too. He’s a talented and funny guy. Please make us a Monkey Ball controller Dr. Tom. We beg you so much.
