Surprise! Fortnite Reload is coming on Saturday, June 22, less than a day after Epic Games announced the mode with a post on X.
Fortnite Reload looks a lot like the game’s OG map going back to 2017, when Epic introduced Fortnite Battle Royale and not only transformed a dull, base-building PvE game, but also transformed the company with the success of Fortnite Battle Royale.

Reload will be a separate game mode within Fortnite’s suite of offerings. Longtime players will recognize OG points on the map like Tilted Towers, Retail Row, Lil Loot Lake, Sandy Sheets, Pleasant Park, and more.
Additionally, Fortnite leaker iFireMonkey says that the Fortnite Reload mode will allow players to revive without the Reboot Van if their crew is still alive.
Some additional Fortnite: Reload information that was posted @george_most_ On May 30:
The reload would work as follows:
As long as one member of your squad is alive, the rest of the squad can revive without rebooting in the Reboot Van.— iFireMonkey (@iFireMonkey) 21 June 2024
Elsewhere in the main game, Fortnite has been Metal Lords crossing over with Metallica 🤘 All last week, and will be this weekend performing a concert three times on Saturday and Sunday. The concerts will take place on the game’s main stage, called Fuel. Fire. Fury.
Fortnite is currently in Chapter 5 Season 3, “Wrecked,” which has players fighting Mad Max-style in a desert wasteland, hence the Metallica collaboration and theme.
